As a DBS Umbrella Body, Aaron’s Department receives regular updates from the DBS regarding the police’s performance in processing DBS checks. A brief summary of the latest report can be found below, along with the entire document:
In June, the average processing times were 12.3 days for Enhanced checks, 1.3 days for Standard checks, and 0.7 days for Basic checks. Delays were noted with the following forces: Dyfed-Powys, Hampshire, Kent, and Sussex, which hold over 90% of aged cases.
Despite staff vacancies and increased demand, forces generally performed well. The ‘aged target’ is expected to be met within 3–6 months if current conditions hold.
As a reminder, to help speed up applications, at Aaron’s Department, we process any DBS check we get before 4pm (Monday-Friday) the very same day. This means the DBS and police can get your application much sooner.
